About us
My name is Russ Lee and I have a lovely wife and daughter.
Our family currently extends as far as Martha our ‘strong willed’ Bassett Hound and Magnus our hunter- gatherer rescue cat. Together we are confirmed animal lovers and having had domestic pets around me for as long as I can remember and a desire to care for animals, Walk The Walk Pet Care seemed like the perfect combination when looking for a family business that we could invest heart and soul into. We insisted that Walk The Walk should serve our local community. We have always lived in Bolton and have a great affection for the area, not least for its numerous beauty spots which have become firm favourites on our ‘walk menu’.
We set out to provide a pet care service which any animal lover will want for their own pet. We want to do "that little bit more" for pets and their owners so we have developed the ideal pet care facility in which we tailor our services precisely to your exact needs. Walk The Walk - Professional yet compassionate
We understand the concerns you may have entrusting your animals and your property to a potential stranger. At Walk The Walk we take our responsibilities extremely seriously. We hold Enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) Disclosures which provide you with the reassurance that you, your pets and your home are in safe hands.
•Public Liability up to £2,000,000
•Care Custody and Control Liability to animals up to £5,000
•Loss of Keys up to £10,000 which includes the following
•Call out charges and expenses arising out of an error in setting or re-setting intruder alarms
•Call out charges, expenses and the cost of replacement locks or alteration to locking mechanisms following the loss of keys
•Provision, where necessary, of temporary protection to a customer’s premises following the loss of keys
Our cover also includes attending Horses, Donkeys and other domesticated farm animals / smallholdings.
Walk The Walk - how we operate
Prior to any commitment from yourself we would arrange a FREE, no obligation consultation at your home as this gives you and your pet the chance to get to know Walk The Walk Pet Care a little better and enables you to ask any questions or voice any concerns that you may have. At this stage if you and your pet are totally happy we complete a short agreement form and the Walk The Walk Pet Care experience begins.
Pet walking service -
not just dogs!
There can be occasions when you are unable to walk your pet -
you may be unwell, or work is taking more of your time than you bargained for. Don't worry - Walk The Walk Pet Walking is the perfect solution for you and your pet, maintaining a fun, healthy and active lifestyle for your animal's wellbeing. Please note all times stated are actual walking times - you don't pay for pick-up and returns!
•Dogs are walked and exercised in a variety of stimulating environments including parkland, woodland, and reservoirs. Personalised walks can be arranged to suit your pet’s needs.
•All pets are given fresh drinking water and healthy treats (only with your permission).
•We always use a full body harness for the comfort and security of your animals
•All pets are towel dried and brushed down prior to return
•We transport your pets in air conditioned vehicles equipped with individual pet seatbelts for comfort and security complying with section 57 of the Highway Code - we never use cages!
•As a responsible operator we safely remove all animal droppings in compliance with the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996.

Pet sitting service -
love and attention at home!
The perfect alternative to kennels and animal hotels, the Walk The Walk Pet Sitting service gives you and your pet the peace of mind of familiar surroundings and unbroken routine. In addition to the benefits to the wellbeing of the animal, you can be reassured that while you are not at home your property still appears occupied - we will open and close curtains, move the mail, and even water your indoor plants if you wish!
•£6.00 one visit
•£15.00 two visits including a half-hour walk
•We supervise your animal for their toilet requirements (includes cleaning of cat litter trays)
•We remove and clean up after any "little accidents"
•We replenish bowls with fresh drinking water and food
•Cats are only let out with owners' permission
•Pets of all shapes and sizes - rabbits, gerbils, guinea pigs, fish, birds, lizards - any small mammal or reptile

After rescuing my two young Springer spaniels a couple of years ago, my frequent holidays stopped. After all they had been through in their young lives, I was reluctant to put them in kennels. I was also worried that all the hard work I had put into dealing with their issues would be undone in the kennel environment. So I stopped going on holiday, but I was in need of a break!
One day on the way to work, I saw Russ in his walk the walk car and observed him with a dog who he appeared to have a strong bond with. I looked up his number and spoke to his lovely wife who arranged for Russ to visit me at home.
Russ spent an hour with me explaining how the serviced worked and showed me his qualifications and CRB check. He met both dogs who loved him. He listened and took notes on the dog’s requirements, likes and dislikes, food, toys etc. He looked after my two dogs for 3 days and visited 3 times each day. After each visit he text me to let me know how it went and what the dogs did, this superseded my expectation and took the worry aspect away.
I'm over the moon with Russ' service and would without hesitation recommend to any pet owner. I'm just about to book him again for a longer break, its great to have the freedom to travel again.

Never having used a pet sitting service until July this year, it was the only option left to me when we had to be away from home for a week at short notice. I was extremely anxious about leaving our treasured cat Lily, and very uneasy about having a stranger in the house in our absence.
My fears began to be allayed when Russ of Walk The Walk visited us for an initial consultation, brought his CRB certificate, patiently answered all my questions and quickly filled in a form with our relevant details. When he greeted Lily she was at ease with him straight away. Russ showed the utmost respect for our privacy and asked that Lily’s food be left in a container on the counter so there would be no need to look in our kitchen cupboards.
During our time away I received daily texts to let me know how Lily was doing, confirming that she had been fed, watered, litter tray changed and been made a fuss of. We returned to a very relaxed and contented cat – almost if we had never been away!
In summary I am delighted with Walk The Walk – trustworthy, professional and genuinely good with animals. We will use them again and I shall be booking well in advance, as no doubt they will be increasingly in demand as word of their service gets around.

Fab Service!
I moved to the area from Manchester in November. Whilst the area is perfect for dog walking, I worked too far to come home on my lunches but Sally being full of energy still needed her walks during the day. Sally took to Russ immediately and enjoys her three walks a week! She greets Russ as she does myself and expects a good cuddle before they go out. She's definitely a happier dog for the service provided!

Excellent Dog Walking Service
Russ has been walking our dog Charlie for 3 months now (Feb 2010) and we are delighted with the service offered. Charlie is a rescue dog and can be a bit of a handful. After a few weeks with Russ he was a lot calmer and happier in himself. The greeting Russ receives from Charlie also shows that he is more than happy!
